This was our first pottery experience with my daughters, ages 6 and 8, and it was amazing. The space was cozy, the instructor was kind and attentive, and she made learning fun and easy. My girls had the best time. Highly recommend this class for anyone looking for a fun and creative activity.

What a lovely space Michele created for pottery! Their homestead is inspiring and peaceful and the class size is small and intimate. Perfect for beginners or someone rusty like me wanting to start ceramics again.

I'd never used a wheel, but my classmate had some experience. Michelle perfectly navigated our different skill levels with lots of guidance and hands on help. I ultimately decided to recycle my clay instead of bringing my (decent!) vessel home, but I was very impressed that I was able to progress so much in one class. Michelle is a great teacher and the environment is very peaceful and easy going.

I’ve always wanted to try pottery, so I had an amazing time learning the art of wheel throwing with Michelle at her beautiful homestead! She greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home as we sipped on tea made with herbs from her garden. After teaching us the basics, I loved how she set the tone for the experience by reminding us to not worry too much about the end result, but to simply enjoy the creative process. Working with the clay on the wheel was as awesome as I'd imagined—there’s something so grounding, relaxing and fun about making art with your hands. It was nice to let go and see what creations came through. The small and intimate class size was perfect so that we could receive the skills and guidance we needed. Big mahalo to Michelle for such a wonderful experience—I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Our family absolutely LOVED our time at Studio Tanah! The studio is set in a peaceful location—complete with the sound of birds chirping and we even got some gentle spring rain—this place is pure creative bliss. Michelle is a gem—full of wisdom and spot-on guidance.
As total beginners, we were encouraged by her clear tips, tricks, and patience. Even when my husband spent time focused on a piece only to scrap it in the end, Michelle reminded us that not every creation needs to be kept - that the real value lies in the experience and the connection with the clay. We left inspired and totally hooked. Thank you for opening our eyes to this ancient art form that we didn't know we would love!

My daughter (7 y/o) and I had the privilege of taking the basics wheel throwing class with Michelle. The class was intimate and hosted on the most beautiful homestead on Kaua’i. Michelle was a wonderful and patient teacher and helped us create beautiful pieces we can’t wait to receive. We look forward to taking many more classes with Michelle! Michelle’s studio is nestled in the most peaceful little food forest. After a little tour and some homemade tea, we got right into it. The demo was informative and I really appreciated the small class size and individual attention!

I could smell the freshness as soon as I opened the back. The flavors are delightful and make a refreshing drink- cold or hot!
