The Mossy Mess Jar
This jar is not clean. It doesn’t care about symmetry, smoothness, or behaving. It’s a mossy mess — a living surface where glaze drips like sap, crawls like lichen, and pools like something ancient returning to itself.
Handbuilt and glazed with chaos, this vessel honors the slow undoing of being human — when the ego cracks, the surface bubbles, and what’s underneath breathes free. The embossed form blooms like rot or memory, breaking through the glaze in ways that feel more alive than decorative.
And yet — it works. Perfectly.
This is a real, grounded, functioning jar — sturdy, liddable, usable — made for holding what matters in a world that doesn’t always make sense.
What is Stoneware?
Stoneware pottery is fired at high temperatures to make it strong, hard, and resistant to liquids (non-porous). It is made from clay, but it is more durable than other kinds of pottery and earthenware. The reason it is called "stoneware" is because of its stone-like qualities, so you can expect something that is rugged, durable, and exudes natural feeling.
Care instructions
While stoneware and the glaze I use is 100% food-safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher friendly, to retain the beautiful colors, I do recommend hand washing and not using them in microwaves. Although stoneware is tough, it could still chip if it is bashed so please handle your pots with care.
