Bone of the Earth Mug
Rough like driftwood left in the heat too long, the Bone of the Earth Mug feels born from desert bones. Its body is warm, sun-fired clay — smooth and earthy — while the handle twists like a root clawed from the sand, crusted in pale yellows and iron traces, as if the desert left its fingerprint behind.
The handle feels like a dried root clawing up from cracked desert ground — gnarled, raw, almost fossilized. There's a tension between the smooth, sunbaked clay body and the wild, crusted handle that looks like it’s been weathered by a hundred sandstorms. It doesn’t feel made — it feels unearthed.
This is a vessel for solitude. For drinking under high heat or stars. It’s not trying to be pretty — it’s just true. Like the desert.
What is Stoneware?
Stoneware pottery is fired at high temperatures to make it strong, hard, and resistant to liquids (non-porous). It is made from clay, but it is more durable than other kinds of pottery and earthenware. The reason it is called "stoneware" is because of its stone-like qualities, so you can expect something that is rugged, durable, and exudes natural feeling.
Care instructions
While stoneware and the glaze I use is 100% food-safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher friendly, to retain the beautiful colors, I do recommend hand washing and not using them in microwaves. Although stoneware is tough, it could still chip if it is bashed so please handle your pots with care.
