Sharing Holistic Goods Through Homestead By Studio Tanah

Five years ago, we bought a piece of undeveloped land with a house that needed a lot of renovation on the beautiful Garden Island of Kaua'i. We were city people with minimal knowledge on how to grow plants, but we were lucky enough to connect with Dave Wyle, a permaculture-obsessed guru who has been transforming properties around Kaua'i with his breadth of knowledge on the subject of building a sustainable lifestyle through building a home with a food-forest.

In 2020, we started our journey by renovating the house first. Once we were satisfied (but of course, never done) with our house, we bought our first garden bed. It was an elevated wooden planter that a local man made himself as a hobby through the pandemic. We ordered 3 more, and started learning how to grow.

Fast forward 5 years later, it is 2025. We now have six massive in ground garden beds. We have been obsessing over clearing our land of invasive plants and replacing them with fruit trees, flowering trees, palms, and native plants. We have over 100 of them. We built a semi-permanent greenhouse.

We finally have something to show for our tropical paradise. And as of now, we finally have too much of many things that it is time to share.

We grow a lot of holistic medicinal plants on our property, but off the top of my head I can name a few that will need trimming, and inevitably, will end up on someones countertop: Yerba Mate, Elderberries, Loquat leaf, Tulsi basil, Lemongrass, Galangal, Ginger, Turmeric, Moringa, Passion fruit flowers, Butterfly Pea, Ylang ylang, Plumeria, Hisbiscus, amongst many others...

So we are excited to release our new product alongside the opening of our new online shop:

Homestead By Studio Tanah

We hope you get to try our organically grown goods wherever you are in the world. It is so exciting to finally be able to offer a piece of our quaint lifestyle to everyone.
